Carmela Lacey was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga in 1996 and, after discovering its multitude of benefits, began a daily practice in July 1997.

She has completed 1st Series (Primary), 2nd Series (Intermediate) and works on the 3rd Series (Advanced A) of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga method.

Carmela completed a three year Teacher Training program with 8Limbs’ in 2002, and has been teaching since January 2000. ( )

Her inspiring approach focuses on observational, technical and communicative skills. She is dynamic, passionate and gives great attention to detail. She continues to research varying integrated functional movement techniques and how they can be incorporated into a yoga practice to benefit a student’s practice as well as her own.

She has been fortunate enough to experience teaching internationally in the USA, Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia, with future workshops and retreats in the planning stages.

After experiencing pregnancy and birth, she has designed (DVD available, see retail section), and now teaches a unique form of Pre and Post-natal yoga and continues to research this area.

Carmela dedicates her time to teaching yoga and to a six day practice, which includes meditation, kriya (cleansing techniques) and pranayama (breathing techniques). She is also involved in 8Limbs’ Mentorship Program and looking after her family. Her education continues by attending various yoga workshops and reading sources of yoga material regularly. She is continues to be mentored and guided by her teachers, Dr Monica Gauci and renowned author Gregor Maehle.

She is available for 1 2 1, small group lessons, enhancing a student’s individual practice.
